Samskin: a lemming. And a really hapless one to boot. During the mass migration of his race, the unfortunate rodent was stranded (and perhaps for his own good: you know how those lemming migrations always end up) and ends up meeting Sneffels. Sneffels, an ermine, is rather partial to devouring him but on whim decides to toy with the funny little rodent, and Samskin is spared for the moment.
This is a prelimenary design. I would really appreciate some feedback on this little guy, and if there are any changes I should make. Also, check out my design for Sneffels as well. Thanks!
Thats a very good character design! I like how he looks helpless. But maybe you should make him look more scruffy Because he's haveing a hard time in life? Other than that, you did a very good job on him!
I like the expression of the animal, it almost tell us the story behind him.
I also like that you used the good old pencil technique, it sure gives a more personal vibe to the work.

Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.

This newsletter was "born" back in March 2007, from a conversation between ~Lareth and =FrozenStarRo, who with the help of their friends *Iardacil and *Sylwiaa , wanted to make something to promote known and unknown photomanipulators alike here on DeviantArt. As of September 2009 =ImaginaryRosse joined the project and will be helping us out with the weekly choices. While things have changed over time, the essence of the newsletter is still the same.
